Neutral Tone Bathroom Update in Chevy Chase, Maryland
Project Overview
The owners of this Chevy Chase, Maryland house wanted to modernize two bathrooms and the home’s facade. With accessible living in mind, they chose to convert their front walkway into a ramp, as well as update the front exterior to reflect their contemporary style preference. The bathrooms were also cramped and no longer met code standards, which prompted a full renovation within their existing footprint.
Design + Layout
The main bath was reimagined to maximize space while bringing the layout up to code. Custom cabinetry in Vision Quarter Cut Scandinavian Oak with a natural veiled finish added warmth and sophistication. Warm-toned tiles and pale blue accents behind the vanity mirrors gave the space a calming, timeless appeal. For the exterior, the front facade was reworked with new Marvin Ultimate Narrow Frame Casement windows in black, paired with a modern front door and sidelights. The decorative, non-structural columns were removed, opening up the entryway, while the front path was redesigned with a mix of light and dark grey pavers to create a modern, welcoming look.
Style + Finishes
The updated bathrooms feature classic polished chrome plumbing fixtures and cabinet hardware, tying together the custom oak cabinetry and the soft tones of the tile work. The front facade now boasts clean lines and modern materials, including black gutters and downspouts that complement the new windows and door. The ramped walkway and open porch space ensure accessibility, while the refreshed design enhances the home’s curb appeal. These improvements made the home ideal for the owners for years to come.
